An original idea conceived and designed exclusively by CAWLIFE, Vageli reimagines the much-loved Christmas nutcracker through the beauty and symbolism of Greek culture.
Standing approximately 40cm tall, Vageli is handmade from wood, individually hand-painted and carefully dressed by hand in custom-made clothing inspired by the ceremonial uniform of Greece’s iconic Evzones. His characterful expression and considered details make every piece wonderfully individual.
In the spirit of the traditional Christmas nutcracker standing proudly on guard, Vageli has been created to watch over the home, the family and the customs passed from one generation to the next.

His name also carries special meaning. Vageli comes from Evangelos, whose name day is celebrated on 25 March—a day on which Greeks honour both the Annunciation and Greek Independence Day.
